Why Good Web Design Is So Important:
There are two primary elements involved in creating a successful internet marketing system; good design and the ability for customers / prospects to find your website. Of these two elements, design carries the heaviest burden. Even a poorly designed site can achieve good ranking on the search engines, but will it convert your prospects into customers? The answer is NO. Failing in the design aspect will only waste precious advertising dollars spent on SEO and Paid Search efforts.

Conversion Architecture is the art of visually identifying your company's primary sales funnels and leading your visitors to take action. The action could be setting an appointment, sending an email, or picking up the phone to call for more information. In the case of an eCommerce site, the action would be making a purchase online. It could be also a low level action such as signing up for a newsletter or mailing list for new product updates and specials. Regardless of the action, it is a form of customer conversion.
Identifying the sales funnels is extremely important and closely related to the level of conversion. To prove this point, ask yourself these simple questions...when you type a keyword in the search engine and land on a site, do you want to waste your precious time hunting for the information you seek? If you don't find the information right away, do you click to another site that will lead you more easily and quickly to the information you requested? Time is precious to everyone and the days of surfing the internet are over. Today people do not surf the internet they search the internet.
Conversion Architecture is your sales funnel that leads your visitor to a call for action.

Your Website’s Look and Feel Is Very Important.
Your industry and your company's branding efforts, including your website, should convey a message...tell a story...answer your visitor's questions. Your website has an audience and you need to know who they are, what appeals to them and what turns them away. Most people will look at a website for only seven seconds and decide in that time frame to stay or leave. Seven seconds isn't very long to get a message across to a person with their finger on the click button.
So let's ask ourselves why do people search the internet?
Specifically, why are they searching for you?
In most cases, they are:
- Looking for information and / or trying to solve a problem
- Shopping and interested in purchasing online
- Interested in becoming part of a social media group
- Looking for entertainment
The most common and deadly mistake in a website's design is lack of clarity. You must clearly and compellingly project the purpose and reason for your website's existence. The following are some common and disastrous web design mistakes:
- Too much text and too little visuals. Remember, you only have seven seconds to
capture your visitor's attention. Use of visuals, bold headers and bullet points work well.
- Ambiguous and meaningless site navigation. Make your navigation clear and concise
in oder to make your website easy to navigate.
- Make your text and images pop out. Good contrast is a must. If you are using a dark colored
background, please make sure that your text is light enough to be read. If you are using a
light colored background, please make sure that your text is very dark like black or blue.
- Be consistent with your branding. Your Home Page and inner pages can be different,
but do not change your pages too often, so it will not confuse the visitor.
- Most importantly, keep your design simple and to the point.
